Customer engagement has never tasted this good

Skyline Chili already had a devoted fanbase, they just needed a way to turn that passion into repeat visits and measurable results. So we brought their iconic Coneys into the digital world with a gamified AR experience that rewarded fans for visiting stores, completing challenges, and engaging with the brand. The outcome: tens of thousands of visits, massive engagement, and a dramatically lower cost per visit.

The Mission

Skyline Chili had the kind of devotion most QSRs can only dream of: chili loyalists, cheese-pull enthusiasts, and coney die-hards. But passion alone doesn’t prove ROI. They wanted a way to turn fan love into measurable behavior… without falling back on more discounts or free cheese.

The Experience

We got a little spicy. We took their most iconic item, the Coney, turned it into a digital collectible, and built a gamified AR treasure hunt that sent fans hunting across Skyline locations. Here’s what we cooked up:

  • Fans visited restaurant locations to collect Coneys in AR
  • Completing challenges earned digital perks
  • A custom marketplace made redemption seamless

Bonus: Fans generated viral social content, helping spread the word to the broader fanbase!

The Results

Turns out, when you gamify chili, people show up.

  • 81% lower cost per visit
  • 61,000+ in-store visits across participating locations
  • 37,000+ fans activated through the AR hunt

Fans came. Fans played. Fans craved more.Give people a reason to play and they’ll stick around for the fun (and the chili).
